This short video is my final piece to go alongside my two garments. I created this animation to showcase the capabilities of digital fashion, emphasizing how fabric moves and interacts in a digital space.
My collection is inspired by Far Eastern culture, both modern and traditional. Through these four outfits, I aimed to explore key themes such as innovation and cultural influences. Each piece reflects modern techniques while maintaining traditional silhouettes.
The creation of this collection involved extensive research, sketching, material selection, construction, and trial and error. For the animation, I used CLO3D to accurately depict the movement and texture of the fabrics while also creating patterns that can be used to produce the garments in real life. One of the challenges was getting the patterns within CLO3D to be realistic for creation while also looking good in the 3D space. I overcame this by creating two separate files for each outfit with alterations to the patterns—one for the animation and one for creating the garment.
This project has been a transformative experience for me. I have learned not only how to create fashion in a more innovative way but also how to manage time and resources efficiently and cost-effectively. It has been particularly rewarding to see my designs come to life in both physical and digital forms. This process has reinforced my passion for fashion design as a whole.
This collection represents not only my vision and creativity but also my technical skills and adaptability. I am excited to continue exploring the possibilities of digital fashion and look forward to contributing to the industry with innovative and sustainable designs.
I invite you to watch the animation and experience the dynamic nature of my designs. Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio and witness my journey as a fashion designer.
